REALTORS® who pursue professional designations have a distinct competitive edge as a result of their increased expertise and marketability. Based on 2009 survey data, the median income of REALTORS® without a designation was $28,400 and the median income of those with at least one designation was $57,700. The difference between the two is
$27,300.

SCHOLARSHIPS
The C.A.R. Scholarship Foundation
was established in 1948. Scholarships are awarded to students enrolled at a California College or University for professions which are centered on, or support a career in real
estate transactional activity. Part of this scholarship foundation includes Perpetual Scholarships, which are in the name of NSDCAR members, Carolyn D'Agosta and Betty L Betty L. "B.J." Johnson Honorary Scholarships for California students (up to 1 per year).
The
C.A.R. Education Foundation
was established in June 2005 to work in conjunction with the existing C.A.R. Scholarship Foundation. Those eligible for consideration to receive grants shall be either: students attending a California college or university who complete a real estate-related course; or REALTORS who complete advanced professional
designation courses, such as GRI, SRES, and other designations, after the designation is attained. Note: All designations must be either NAR approved,or C.A.R. certification courses taken within the last calendar year.
